DJ, (nome di battesimo: Juliana Osei) nata a Manchester, cresciuta a Londra, ha trovata una nicchia in Italia per suonare la sua passione di FUNK music a 360 gradi. Ha amato questa musica da sempre, rigorosamente nel suo formato original di vinile, comperando suo primo 45giri all'eta' di 12 anni. Quando si ? trasferita in Italia all'inizio degli anni 90' ha portata con s? tutti i suoi dischi ed ha continuata a comprare, sopratutto durante la rinascita della scena musicale di 'Rare Groove'. La sua visione musicale si ? arrichita qui in Italia aggiungendo funky Colonne Sonore, Disco-Funk, Latin-Funk ed Afro-funk al suo repertorio di musica anni '70 a 360 gradi!. Cerca dieci anni fa, la sua prima opportunitO di suonare in un posto fisso ? stato il mitico Atomic Bar a Milano. Poi la sua prossimo impiego ? stato come DJ residente della Domenica presso Le Bataclan, un locale molto frequentato e conosciuto ma ormai defunto. Poi tanti altri locale come Jazz Cafe, Ragoo, C.S. Pergola, Link di Bologna, ATM e Cox.18, mitico Centro Sociale sul naviglio dove suona ancora oggi giorno, ogni mese. Fra l'altro ha provveduto al suono musicale per sfilate della moda tipo 'Les Copains', la festa della rivista GQ insieme a Yoox, la festa dell'automobile Smart, la festa della Fornarina per il lancio della nuova linea di Miss Van, Calvin Klein, Rodeo, poi collaborazione con la Red Bull, ecc, ecc. Contemporaneamente conduce, da tanti anni, la trasmissione di 'Black Fluid' alla Radio Popolare che prosegue ancora oggi stesso, ogni Domenica pomeriggio. Ha avuto recensione su di lei ? la sua musica su vari giornali tipo Corriere Della Sera, Il Manifesto, Urban, Glamour e GQ. Suo nome d'arte ? stata ispirata ad un personaggio fiction chiamata 'Cleopatra Jones' (la statuesca attrice Americana, Tamara Dobson) dei film di Blaxploitation degli anni '70, ovvero il Black Cinema. 'Cleopatra' era una bellissima specie di James Bond-Agente Segreta al feminile, alta 2 metri, forte, micidiale ma sempre sexy! Una superdonna, istruita nelle arti marziale e tutti tipi di combattimento ma sempre vestita e truccata da mozzafiato! Come diceva la rivista URBAN 'Cleopatra Jones ? la versione nera superfunky di James Bond (oppure Modesty Blaise!) che si fa strada a cazzotti e colpi di karat? e dietro di s? lascia solo rovine!'..."Volevo prendere il nome di una eroina che fosse forte, indipendente ma indubbiamente 'donna' e lei era il mio mito degli anni '70. Ho cambiato la C in K ed ecco...? nata Kleopatra J!!"

Originally inspired by Glasgow's vibrant night-life, was part of a small collective of young DJs and muscians who provided an alternative-funk sound to combat Glasgow's ever growing Techno/Electro scene. As a teenager was influenzed heavily by '70s funk and disco that soon quickly grew into a vinyl-collecting love affair. Helped put Glasgow on the musical map during the Uk's 'Rare Groove' scene and has DJ'd at Glasgow's legendary Sub Club (every top Dj's favourite night-spot!), The Glasgow International Jazz Festival and numerous music bars. Came to Italy in 2002 to secure a bright future. Has a passion for all things funky, especially hypnotic '70s Funk. Loves to DJ an eclectic mix of musical genres with no boundaries but most importantly, plays good music that makes you want to dance! <<
